Alex is currently flying at the Advanced World Championships in Pendleton, Oregon. He is flying Canadian Kevin Hopkins Sukhoi 29 (2 seat version of the Sukhoi) as Alex's Sukhoi 26 is too powerful and not legal for Advanced World Competition.  Alex was originally the first alternate on the US Team, but one of his team mates got injured and Alex was ready to step in.  This pirate flag was given to Alex by Keoki Gray when Alex was to fly as the alternate.  Alex passed it along to Steve Johnson, a US Competitor and friend flying here as an "Independent" (or Pirate!).
