Alex just completed his type ratings in the L39 and the L29 jets. Thanks to Doug Gilliss and Lt. Zach McNeill for helping get it all done. Patty Wagstaff also got her type rating in the L39. In addition, Alex flew his aerobatic routines in both jets to add them to his aerobatic ACC card. Keoki Gray of Amelia Island Aerobatics played host and let us use his aerobatic box. There was one snafu when the L39's APU starting system malfunctioned. Richard Klein immediately came down from International Jets in Alabama to get us going again. Incredibly, he drove down over 10 hours with all kinds of parts and tools just to make sure we could get back in the air.
Alex may be the youngest L29 and L39 jet pilot in the world!
Alex wins Overall Advanced in the Marysville Ohio contest. He won the Known flight, the Freestyle flight and was 2nd in the Unknown. His Freestyle flight won with the outstanding score of over 91%!
Alex flew the CJ6 in the PDK Good Neighbor Day air show. There was a great turn out for a day in the 90's, and some great performances by Gary Ward, Greg Koontz, Larry King, Team RV and many others. Really a fun show each year that you certainly want to attend if you are in the Atlanta area.
