Amelia Island Lodging Information

Thanks for visiting my website.  My name is Keoki Gray, and I  have a wealth of aerobatic experience.  My flying history includes:

  • 5 years as the Slot and Solo pilot with The Red Baron Squadron

  • 2 years with The Holiday Inn Aerobatic Team (Left Wing)

  • 2 years with the Holiday Inn/Coca-Cola Aerobatic Team (Slot)

  • 2 years with (and a founding member of) the 2COOL Gliders Aerobatic Team (Wing position).

With 12 years’ experience in and around the air show industry, I’ve logged more than 10,500 hours in over 100 different types of aircraft.  As Certified Flight Instructor since 1983, flight instruction has been my full-time profession since 1996.  That has let me develop a calm, safety-oriented teaching style that my students appreciate.

I am based at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport (55J), on enchanting Amelia Island, at the very northeastern corner of Florida.   Detailed flight instruction, and coaching in air show flying (solo or team performances), are offered.  I may be qualified to instruct in your aerobatic aircraft.

If you’re looking for a challenging, fun way to become a better pilot, and want to fly with someone who has the experience, I should be your instructor of choice.  Please take a moment to contact me about my instruction services.  I would be glad to help.

Hey there my Friends!

I can't stop dancing with joy.  Last night I found out I won the 2008 French Connection Aerobatics Scholarship...

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Suzanne also told me Patty was one of the judges, and that I was first choice for each judge.  Wow!

I am honored and extremely grateful.

A Very Happy Michelle

Our Buddy Randy!

Our old buddy, Randy, flew the newest Eclipse jet at Oshkosh this year in the air show.  That's right, acro in the new baby jet.  What's more, he is the only one in the world with the ECJ listed on his low level waiver.  Very cool!

In case you missed it, here are a couple of photos and a brief in-cockpit video.  Perfect sky--enjoy!

Alex Quest!

Alex (on the left, with dad, Jay) has a gift.  He can fly with a maturity beyond his years.  In fact, with only a season of competition under his belt, he took a Sukhoi Su-26 to the Nationals in a quest to make the Advanced World Aerobatic Team.  See how he fared on these web sites.

The Advanced World Aerobatic Contest is over and Alex did very well-- but it was a busy few weeks.  He flew his Su-26 at our 4th of July show, then practiced in and flew the family CJ-6 in the air show at Oshkosh for the 60th anniversary of the CJs in late July.  Then Alex went out west and had to train in an Su-29 because the Su-26 is not AWAC legal.  After all that he turned in a very fine set of flights at AWAC 2008 in Oregon.  Congratulations, Alex!
